The Department of Public Safety maintains a website of Lost & Found materials. If you've misplaced something, check out their website to see if your missing item has been located.

Information on Campus Security

The GSG, along with the Department of Campus Safety, take campus security VERY seriously. We are working together to make the College Park campus of the University of Maryland a wonderful place to work, attend classes, and visit.

For more information about the Department of Campus Safety and the services they offer, please visit their website at www.umpd.umd.edu.

Presidential Task Force on Graduate Security Final Report

A perceived increase of criminal activity at Graduate Hills and to a lesser extent at Graduate Gardens has led to a growing and pervasive sense of, as one graduate student resident put it, “insecurity.” As a result, the GSG Office of the President created the Presidential Task Force on Graduate Security.
Please click here for a complete copy of the final report.

Tips from the Office of Campus Safety

Graduate students are advised to program the UMCP phone number into their cell phones. The Campus Police can be reached at either 301.405.3555 or 911.

Suspicious activity or persons should be reported to UMCP immediately.
This is NOT paranoid behavior; it's good citizenship.
Reporting potentially dangerous situations to the Campus Police can help improve your own personal safety and the safety of those you live and work with.
