GSG and GLAO Budgets Approved

The Graduate Student Government Budget for Financial Year 2009-2010 has been approved by the Assembly along with the Budget for the Graduate Legal Aid Office. University Counseling Center's Temporary Relocation Starting July 2009

Due to the renovation of the Shoemaker Building, the 4th Floor of Susquehanna Hall will be the temporary home of the University Counseling Center from July 2009 until July 2010. In a related move, the Center's Learning Assistance Service (LAS) and the Testing Office will be relocated to the 3rd Floor of the South Campus Dining Hall during the renovations. Check here or call 301-314-7651 for more information. Remember, as a graduate student, you are eligible for up to 12 counseling sessions during a 12-month span.

Laura Moore Award Winner Announced

On June 12, 2009, Anupama Kothari received the Laura C. Moore Award for Leadership in Advocacy on Behalf of the Graduate Student Community. This award honors the Graduate Student Government assembly member who has made outstanding contributions to graduate student issues. GSG Invites Nominations for the Laura C. Moore Award

The "Laura C. Moore Award for Leadership in Advocacy on Behalf of the Graduate Student Community" is an award given by the Graduate Student Government intended to recognize an individual who has made outstanding contributions to advocacy on behalf of graduate student issues. If you know an individual who would be a great candidate for the award or would like to nominate yourself, please visit here. Safety Walk

The GSG is organizing a Safety Walk with members of the Administration to explore areas around campus that do not feel safe for graduate students (parking lots, etc.). Please ask your constituents to email the VPSA at (gsg-vpsa [at] umd.edu ) with as much details as possible areas that they feel are unsafe to walk at night on and around campus.
