The Committee Re-titling Act (GSGA27-A14)The governing documents of the GSG are the Constitution and the Bylaws. Changes to the constitution require a referendum that goes out to the graduate student population in which at least 500 students vote. Bylaws, on the other hand, can be changed by a simple majority in the GSG Assembly. Click on the following links to download the documents:
Referendum - Proposed Changes to GSG Constitution
The Committee Re-titling Act (GSGA27-A14):
An amendment to the Graduate Student Government Constitution to change the name of the Ways and Means Committee to the Rules Committee, so as to more accurately reflect its duties and responsibilities. Read entire amendment.
The Assembly Membership Revision Act (GSGA27-A15):
An amendment to the Graduate Student Government Constitution to make it more accurately reflect the current and historical membership in the GSG by restricting membership in the GSG Assembly to graduate students (removing language suggesting that Representatives may be members of the University Administration), and to remove ambiguous language regarding the number of Representatives permitted of non-program organizations. Graduate Student Government Responsibilities Act (GSGA27-A17):
An amendment to the Graduate Student Government Constitution to expand the list of individuals and bodies the GSG advises so as to reflect current practice and to formally acknowledge which entity serves as the GSG Faculty Advisor. Read entire amendment.
Constitution Clean-up Act (GSGA27-A18):
An amendment to the Graduate Student Government Constitution to correct grammatical errors, clarify confusing language, and adopt a new formatting system so as to create a more professional looking and easy to access version of the GSG Constitution. These revisions are non-substantive. Read entire amendment.
