B3: Exploring Identities and Popular Culture, Poster Presentation, GRID 2009

11:00 AM-12:00 PM, Margaret Brent A

Scholarly inquiry into college student identity development has long served as the foundation of the field of student affairs. Typically, this scholarship examines domains of student development as discrete entities. Breaking from this tradition, researchers conducted a pioneering study that used autoethnography to explore identity development from an intersectional approach. Presenters will discuss how this methodology offers the potential to contribute new theoretical understandings of college student development by more fully telling their stories.
