Lot 5 Lottery Registration Info

Graduate students may still register for campus parking permits, but lot assignments for the 2009-10 academic year are filling quickly. Graduate students may also enter the lottery for spaces in Lot 5 before Tuesday, July 7, at 4:00pm. For more information and online registration, click here and follow the "Parking Permits" link. Call the Department of Transportation Services with questions at 301-314-PARK.

University Counseling Center's Temporary Relocation Starting July 2009

Due to the renovation of the Shoemaker Building, the 4th Floor of Susquehanna Hall will be the temporary home of the University Counseling Center from July 2009 until July 2010. In a related move, the Center's Learning Assistance Service (LAS) and the Testing Office will be relocated to the 3rd Floor of the South Campus Dining Hall during the renovations. Check here or call 301-314-7651 for more information. Remember, as a graduate student, you are eligible for up to 12 counseling sessions during a 12-month span.

Summer Trips and Events Offered By The Stamp

This summer, Stamp Special Events and Programs is proud to offer a full schedule of summer events! Stamp Sizzlin' Summer events are open to students, staff, and faculty at a free or very low cost. These include "Summer in the City" series includes trips to the International Spy Museum and Newseum, outdoor concerts and films, and more! Monuments by Moonlight Tour

Join Graduate Student Life for a 2-1/2 hour narrated tour of Washington DC's most popular monuments under a moonlit sky. Professional guides will provide entertaining stories and historical information and tell you about the spirits who haunt the nation's capital. Useful University Links

  • Center for Teaching Excellence has useful information for TA's, especially the Graduate Teaching Assistant Resource Guide. Roughly 2200 graduate students are Teaching Assistants.
  • Graduate Handbook has info on resources that are available to you as a graduate student. This is especially useful for new grad students.
  • Graduate Legal Aid provides legal services free of charge to currently registered graduate students. They handle a wide range of both University-related and off-campus issues.
  • Graduate Ombudsperson is an impartial, independent and confidential resource for resolving conflicts. This can include conflicts with an adviser, committee member, instructor, other faculty member, or any member of the campus community.
  • Graduate School Contact the Graduate School if you need a waiver of academic policy. Their site has useful information on assistantships, fellowships, and grants. The Graduate School also hosts a number of very useful workshops
  • Graduate Student Life provides programming and advocacy for graduate student needs on campus. GSL provides discounted admissions to events such as professional soccer games, wine festivals, and plays.
